An English major is available to students desiring to teach at the secondary level. It requires completion of the 48-hour major described below, completion of a 20-hour minor in an approved department and completion of professional development courses described in the College of Education section.
Admission to the major does not constitute admission to the College of Education .
No English course except for Engl 201 may double-count toward a major and minor in English, or toward a double major in English. This limitation does not apply to interdisciplinary or certificate programs. Substitutions for required courses may be granted by permission of the English department chair or designee.
