Spanish Major for Teacher Certification (B.A.)

A Spanish major is available to students desiring to teach at the secondary or K-12 level. It requires completion of the 30 credit hour major described below, completion of a minor in an approved department and completion of professional development courses in Modern Foreign Languages and in the College of Education (see College of Education section of the catalog).
It is strongly recommended that six credit hours be taken abroad in a country where the language of study is spoken. These six credit hours can be taken to fulfill required or elective courses in the major with instructor approval.

One additional 400-level Spanish course
Additional Electives
- Additional 300-400 level electives in Spanish to total a minimum of 30 credits.
Required Course(s) for Certification
In addition to 30 credits in Spanish, students must complete College of Education Secondary Education courses and one of the following Language Methods requirements. Required for secondary certification:
