For a major in
, 28 credits are required in courses numbered 211 or higher. Students whose Spanish proficiency is beyond
SPAN 211 and
SPAN 212 will take all their courses at the 300-400 levels; such students will not receive credit for
SPAN 211 and
SPAN 212 .
It is strongly recommended that six credit hours be taken abroad in a country where the language of study is spoken. These six credit hours can be taken to fulfill required or elective courses in the major with instructor approval.
Students who successfully complete SPAN 111 and SPAN 112 with a grade of “C” or higher or demonstrate proficiency at the SPAN 112 level or above, will be eligible for admission to the major.
