Endorsements–Early Childhood Minor

In addition to the Elementary Education Major requirements outlined under the Elementary Education Major (B.A.) catalog entry, students may complete the following endorsement program for additional specialization. Endorsements to the elementary teaching certificate are in addition to the Elementary Education Major (B.A.) , except where noted specifically.

Early Childhood Minor (28 cr)
A minor of 28 credits will lead to a State of Michigan Early Childhood Endorsement which is often referred to as the “ZS Endorsement.” A student who does not complete teacher certification requirements will not be permitted to graduate with this minor.
Prerequisites: admission to the Elementary Teacher Education Program and completion of TE 300 , PSYC 310 and PSYC 317 .
The program is planned in cohorts of 25 students. Initial admission will be based on date of admission to the Elementary Teacher Education Program and class standing. Requirements for this program are completed in addition to all of the requirements for the Elementary Education Major (B.A.) except TE 343 and TE 344 . The requirements for these courses will be met in the Early Childhood Program by taking TE 484 . Course Sequence for Winter Semester Cohorts
