Geography Minor for Teacher Certification

The Teacher Certification Minor helps prepare students for careers in education at the middle school and high school levels. The curriculum is aligned with the national and Michigan standards and reflects close coordination between the Geography Program and Teacher Education.

Regional and Topical Studies (9 credits required)
Upper division courses offer in-depth content knowledge and a firm grounding in regional and topical approaches to geographic study. Techniques (3 credits required)
Prospective geography teachers should have proficiency in one set of techniques and appreciate their utility for solving real-world problems. Inquiry (3 credits required)
