Spanish Minor for Teacher Certification

For a minor in Spanish with PK-12 teacher certification, 20 credits in Spanish are required in courses numbered 300 or higher.

It is strongly recommended that six credit hours be taken abroad in a country where the language of study is spoken. These six credit hours can be taken to fulfill required or elective courses in the major with instructor approval.

All foreign language majors or minors who are candidates for teacher certification must also pass the Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) with a minimum rating of Advanced Low.

Additional Electives

Additional 300-400 level credits in Spanish to total a minimum of 20 credits.
