Nurse Educator Certificate

The Nurse Educator Certificate provides online courses and supervised teaching practice in clinical practice and/or academic settings. It is designed for nurses who want to take the first step to improve their competency in patient/family teaching, staff development, and continuing education or if contemplating a future nurse educator career. Certificate courses with grades of 3.0 will earn credit towards an MSN in Nursing Education at SVSU. This certificate consists of 12 credits.

Admission Requirements
BSN from an accredited program
Current unencumbered Michigan RN License
Instructor permission if currently enrolled in SVSU’s RN to BSN Program
Required Courses
Courses are online. NURS 665 includes 120 hrs of supervised teaching practice that need to be arranged 4 months prior to the start of that course.
