Program Description
The Digital Publishing and Community Journalism minor develops student competency for a range of contemporary journalism, media, and publishing opportunities, (including digital journalist, podcaster, vlogger, social media writer, digital content publisher, and media editor) in areas such as community journalism, organizational journalism, and corporate journalism. The minor offers students a credential that complements a range of writing and media fields. Students will cultivate proficiency across textual, aural, and visual media, as well as digital publishing and distribution, creating content that includes digital publications, podcasts, vlogs, and social media. The minor places specific emphasis on journalistic research practices, digital media production, and ethical community engagement. 24 Total Credits (18 required credits; 6 elective credits)
