Social Work Major (BSW)

Students must complete a disciplinary minor or the Interdisciplinary Major Requirement.

Human Behavior in the Social Environment Sequence (6 cr)


Social Welfare Policy Sequence (6 cr)


Social Work Practice Research Methods (3 cr)


In addition to SW 329, it is recommended that students planning to attend graduate school take a course in statistics such as SOC 225.

Social Work Field Instruction Sequence (12 cr)


Integrative Social Work Senior Seminar (3 cr)


Social Work Electives (6 cr)


Students must take 6 additional credits of Social Work or Youth Services courses. Courses must be at the 300-level or above unless approved by the department.

Interdisciplinary Major Requirement


12 credits from the following courses are required for an interdisciplinary major. These courses are not required for a student with a minor.

Students must take courses at the 300-level or above unless approved by the department. Students must take courses from at least two departments (NOTE: Social Work (SW) and Youth Services (YS) count as one department). A maximum of six (6) credits can be taken from the Department of Social Work & Youth Services.

A social work minor is not available.
