Restricted to students seeking secondary teacher certification in mathematics for grades 7 to 12. A student who does not complete teacher certification requirements will not be permitted to graduate with this major. A certification minor is optional.

MATH 125 - Contemporary Mathematics (GE3) 4 cr
MATH 161 - Calculus I (GE3) 4 cr
MATH 162 - Calculus II 4 cr
MATH 300 - Discrete Math Structures 3 cr
MATH 302 - Introduction to Modern Mathematics 3 cr
MATH 471 - Abstract Geometry 3 cr
One of the following:
MATH 132A - Statistical Methods: General Statistics (GE3) 4 cr
MATH 132B - Statistical Methods: Biostatistics (GE3) 4 cr
MATH 304 - Applied Probability & Statistics 3 cr
Only one of the following:
MATH 223 - Matrix Algebra 4 cr
MATH 323 - Linear Algebra 3 cr

6 additional credits in mathematics courses at or above MATH 261 except MATH 310 , MATH 476 or MATH 480 .
