Alternative Energy Minor

This minor is open to all majors. However, it is specifically designed for ME , EE , Physics , and Chemistry majors.

Core Courses (10-13 cr)

Students must take the following core courses.

CHEM 111 - General Chemistry I Lecture 4 cr
CHEM 111L - General Chemistry I Lab 1 cr
and either
PHYS 212 - Analytical Physics II 4 cr
PHYS 212L - Introductory Physics II Lab 1 cr
or
PHYS 112 - General Physics II 4 cr
PHYS 112L - General Physics II Lab 1 cr
CHEM 322 - Physical Chemistry II 3 cr

Elective Courses (9 cr)

Students must take three of the following courses.

CHEM 418 - Green and Sustainable Chemistry 3 cr
ECE 394 - Energy Storage Systems 2 cr
and
ECE 394L - Energy Storage Systems Laboratory 1 cr
ECE 492 - Solar Photovoltaic Systems 3 cr
ME 300 - Introduction to Renewable Energy 3 cr
ME 350 - Wind Energy 3 cr
