I. Admission
1. Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution
2. Minimum 3.0 grade point average (based on 4.00 scale) for students completing degrees in the past four years.
3. Passing scores on the Michigan Test for Teacher Certification (MTTC) Professional Readiness Examination or Michigan Department of Education-approved alternative pass measures
4. Successful interview into the College of Education Teacher Education Program
II. Secondary Program
A College of Education advisor will meet with candidates to help determine possible content areas. If candidates have not met the requirements for a major as part of their degree, they must complete these courses in addition to the professional studies requirements of the ARC program. Candidates must pass the MTTC content area test to be certified to teach in that content area.
