Programs for Licensed RN Students
Registered Nurse (RN) Students
The registered nurse student is one who has graduated from a state approved school of nursing and holds a current license to practice in the state of Michigan. Degree Requirements
To complete the degree requirements, an RN student must earn a minimum of 24 credits from nursing courses (NURS); 124 credits are required for graduation, of which 31 must be from SVSU. The 124 credits include: the 24 NURS credits, 4 upper division credits, an approved statistics course, 31 credits awarded based on articulation criteria, transfer credits, and General Education credits. Basic skill credits do not count towards the 124 credits for graduation. Admission Process for RN Students
Minimum eligibility criteria for admission to the program include:
- Michigan RN license.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50.
- An approved plan of study, which includes student’s goals and individualized plan for program completion.
Transfer credits are considered in this process.
Additional Required Course (4 cr)
One statistics course from the following: Required Elective Courses (4 cr)
- Two upper division, non-required courses.
