(select a cognate in either (A) Secondary Classroom Teaching or (B) one of the Subject Matter Areas, and take 9 credits in that cognate area only; consult your advisor.)

Select 6 credits in a subject matter area and one additional 3-credit course from either the Differentiated Instruction Option or Teaching and Learning in Urban Secondary Schools. Secondary Level Endorsement
Teachers with an elementary level certificate have the option to earn a secondary level endorsement which will extend their subject area endorsements to grades 9 to 12. Additional course work may be required to ensure the student has an approved teachable major and minor selected by the student to teach in the high school setting. Interested candidates must schedule an appointment with a certification advisor in the College of Education to review course work and state testing requirements for the endorsement and discuss how this program will develop into the Master of Arts in Teaching degree. |
