A minor program housed within the philosophy department, the Legal Philosophy minor introduces students to philosophical and normative issues in the law and jurisprudence. In particular, coursework required for the Legal Philosophy minor emphasizes the relationship between the law and ethical and social institutions. The Legal Philosophy minor is also structured so that students are trained in formal and informal logical reasoning necessary for those interested in pursuing further education in the law.
The Legal Philosophy minor is earned through completion of 18 credits including two required courses in logic and one required CI course. A minimum grade point average of 2.00 is required for graduation. No “D” or “F” may be counted towards completion of the minor.
