TE 312 - Literacy Methods for Early Elementary Credits: 3
Theoretical and methodological understanding of teaching and assessing constructs of literacy appropriate for students in early elementary. Special emphasis will be placed on major elements of emergent literacy: print concepts, phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, spelling, and early writing stages. Fieldwork in kindergarten or first grade classrooms. Co-requisite: TE 329 Field Practicum
Requisites: Admission to the Teacher Education program; TE 311 (Required, Previous).
