TE 389 - Early Childhood Capstone The Early Childhood Capstone includes a supervised, successful teaching internship experience in multiple early childhood settings. Teacher candidates plan, apply, and reflect upon research-based effective teaching practices for children (birth-age 8), including interdisciplinary approaches to teaching literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies through the visual and performing arts, movement and physical activity. Instructional and guidance techniques for the young child are explored, implemented, and evaluated. Family involvement, community collaboration, and staff communication as an instructional team are emphasized. Capstone meetings provide opportunities for analysis, evaluation, and discussion of these early childhood internship teaching experiences. Concurrent with internship.This course is required for undergraduate students seeking the Early Childhood (Birth-Kindergarten) grade band.
Requisites: Completion of all professional studies courses in the candidate’s selected grade band/endorsement (Required, Previous).
