TE 360 - Number & Op Assessment & Instruction


Design and implement assessment and instruction for developing children’s ability to reason with whole numbers and operations. Emphasis will be on mathematics-specific tasks of teaching for supporting, connecting, and analyzing children’s strategies and procedures, explanations, and interpretations of representations. Evaluate instructional resources, children’s literature, physical and digital tools for supporting all children’s access and success in mathematics learning. Engage in reflective practice for improving mathematics-specific teaching practices. Fieldwork required (online, remote, and/or in-person). Co-requisite: TE 339  Field Practicum in Grades 2-3 or TE 349  Field Practicum in Grades 3-4

Requisites: Admission to Lower Elementary (PK-3) Education and/or Upper Elementary (3-6) Education, MATH 110  (Required, Previous). TE 339  or TE TE 349  (Required, Concurrent).
