TE 311 - Literacy Beginnings Theoretical and methodological understanding of teaching and assessing constructs of literacy appropriate for students in prekindergarten/kindergarten classrooms. Special emphasis will be placed on major elements of preliteracy and emergent literacy: print concepts, phonemic awareness, phonics, and early writing stages. Fieldwork in pre-kindergarten or kindergarten classrooms. Co-requisite: TE 319 Field Practicum
Requisites: TE 319 Field Practicum (Required, Concurrent). Admission to the Teacher Education program (Required, Previous).
