PS 230 - Exploring the Legal Profession

This course is designed for all students considering law school, including transfer and first-year students. The course focuses on three areas:  1) introducing students to the legal profession, with the chance to see what skills a lawyer uses, such as interviewing, preparing case briefs, and advocacy; 2) having attorneys directly share their insights and experiences; and 3) introducing students to the steps necessary to successfully apply for law school, including a discussion of financial aid, law school admissions, the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT), and personal statements. This is not an LSAT preparation course. It does not serve as an elective for any specific major, minor, or general education category.
