YS 322 - Treatment Courts for Youth and Families Treatment Courts for Youth and Families introduces students to the development and expansion of treatment courts in the United States as a way to address substance abuse treatment needs for court-involved individuals. Comparisons between traditional justice system approaches and treatment court approaches are made by underscoring the idea of therapeutic jurisprudence. Areas of focus include shared and contrasting elements of juvenile drug treatment courts, family treatment courts, adult drug treatment courts and mental health courts.
