TE 541 - Evidence-based Practices II This course is focused on expanding students’ repertoire and mastery of evidence-based instructional/intervention procedures including, but not limited to such practices as teaching verbal behavior, using contingency contracting, using self-management strategies, promoting generalization and maintenance (Cooper, Heron & Heward, 2019). The evidence-based practices of Technology-aided Instruction and Intervention (Hedges, S., & AFIRM Team, 2018), Peer-mediated Instruction and Intervention (Sam, A., & AFIRM Team, 2015), and Video Modeling (Cox, A., & AFIRM Team, 2018) will also be emphasized, specifically related to their effective usage to address: social, communication, behavior, play, school-readiness, cognitive, motor, adaptive, vocational, and academic outcomes. Students will read professional literature, participate in discussions, conduct literature research, and begin implementing evidence-based practices.
Note: Fieldwork required.
Requisites: TE 303 , TE 503 (ASD or Grad Cert in ABA only), or TE 602 (Required, Previous).
