CJ 381 - Social Justice
Relationships between the components of criminal justice - police, courts and corrections - and individuals and groups in society; emphasis on issues related to diversity and difference in the interaction between public officials and members of various social groups - racial and ethnic minorities, social classes and special interest groups. This course explores numerous issues that are relevant to a framework of inclusion that often interfere with the achievement of social justice. Emphasis on introduction of concepts of inequality and its effects on diverse people by examining various social identities and the construction of difference.
