CSIS 531 - Computer Architecture The course covers fundamental structures in modern microprocessor and computer system architecture design. Topics will include computer organization, instruction set architecture, CISC and RISC architecture, memory system design, pipelining, and other advanced topics to exploit parallelism. The class will focus on quantitative evaluation of different design alternatives and tradeoffs between cost and performance as well as between hardware and software.
Requisites: CS 331 or equivalent
