PSYC 314 - Infant Development This course covers theories and research methods used in studying the development of human infants and toddlers from conception through three years of age. The course addresses both theory and research about their perceptual, cognitive and psychosocial development toddlers. Coverage includes biological and psychosocial factors that affect prenatal and postnatal development, early signs of developmental problems, and the role of parent/child interaction in cognitive and social development. Techniques and methods used for studying children of this age will be emphasized, and ethical concerns that pertain to working with this protected class of research participants are stressed throughout the course.
Requisites: PSYC 100. (Required, Previous).
