TE 309 - Reading in the Content Areas K-8 This course facilitates the elementary teacher candidate’s ability to demonstrate and apply the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to help all K-8 students learn to read. The focus is on how to develop reading comprehension strategies for reading and writing across core content areas; this course has both a theoretical and practical component involving observing/assisting content-literacy lessons in a k-8 classroom. Fieldwork required.
Requisites: PSYC 310, TE 300, admission to the Elementary Teacher Education Program. (Required, Previous).
