NURS 491 - Pain Management Across the Lifespan

Nursing diagnosis and interventions for acute and chronic pain. Topics covered are pathophysiology, pharmacological, complimentary, and interventional treatments. Assessing pain in verbally impaired individuals, cancer pain, end of life care, physical dependency, addiction and abuse will also be covered. This is an elective course open nursing students after their first practicum class.   

Prerequisite:  NURS 274.
