History Major for Teacher Certification Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs)

1. Students will possess substantial content knowledge including survey and specialty narratives in American, European, and World history.

2. Students will describe events from multiple perspectives and explain why individuals in the past made the choices they did.

3. Students will learn to formulate significant historical questions and to construct historical narratives based on the selection and arrangement of factual information.

4. Students will learn to develop and evaluate historical interpretations.
