1. Students will explain the geographical, social, historical, ecological, physical, and cultural processes that influence contemporary environments, including environmental challenges and sustainability issues.
2. Students will critically analyze issues related to the environment and sustainability by using multiple, interdisciplinary perspectives.
3. Students will acquire and interpret information from a variety of sources (e.g. literature, maps, census, field observations, images etc.), and demonstrate synthesis of that information through a variety of formats (e.g. writing, speech, visual).
4. Students will demonstrate proficiency in applying contemporary geospatial techniques (GIS and Remote Sensing) to answer environmental and sustainability-related questions.
